“Joanna has been incredibly helpful in assessing and guiding me to better ergonomics and less back and hip pain while sitting. She came to both my home office and workplace office and with a few simple adjustments helped me find a more comfortable and supportive way to sit so I can focus on my work with no pain. Joanna also guided me through several techniques I can do throughout my day to improve my posture. Joanna is skilled, supportive and compassionate, I would highly recommend her work.”

Office Ergonomics

Whether you are working from home or sharing a communal office, how you interact with your space is paramount to your health and well being both in and outside of the work environment. Using the practical application of modern ergonomics, through the lens of our natural and ancestral posture, we are able to find ways to inhabit our working scenarios that are comfortable and healthy. We truly believe that sitting is not the problem, it is sitting with poor posture that has us collectively experiencing a dramatic amount of pain. While we may be more sedentary than our ancestors, and adding movement into our days is a relevant goal, we see cultures around the world sitting for long hours at a time, weaving, crafting, etc, who experience little or no pain. We can learn from these cultures, as well as from examples in our own lives such as our children, how to settle into positions that help restore and maintain this naturally upright and relaxed posture. Sitting, when done with healthy alignment, is not harmful and can even be a healing and peaceful activity.

In our communal office classes, we start with a group session to understand the basics of natural posture ergonomics as they apply to the job setting at hand. We then move into assessing each individual employees’ office space to fine tune our techniques and recommendations to their specific workspace. Home office visits are a meaningful option as well which can be done in person or via video call.

Musculoskeletal injuries are the second most common cause of employee sick leave, with back pain itself ranking within the top five reasons. Natural posture addresses not only back pain, but the entire body, to develop a clear understanding of your structure and how to relate it to your workspace in a harmonious way. Invest in your employees’ health and happiness at work with the art of natural posture.

Duration and pricing for our office ergonomics classes are dependent on the size and needs of each client, please contact us directly to let us know more about your group.
